The long awaited $100 laptop is almost available and anyone can now own one, that is if you don’t mind spending 4-times more than the original $100 price tag. Beginning November 12th you will be able to pre-order the laptop except the original $100 price is now at $200 and that would not be so bad if you could just pay $200. Instead you have to spend $400 because the only way you can purchase the laptop is if you also purchase one for someone in need.

I suppose this is a great way to get some laptops into the hands of others that actually need them and would make a nice “charity” type of gift but I am sure I could find a better more full-featured computer for $400, even if it is used.
