A rival for the Asus Eee

by Chris Marshall on Jan 5, 2008 at 12:34 AM

Noah Pad

The recently updated Asus Eee would appear to have a rival, the Noahpad ultra-mobile PC, which is due to launch at CES. It is made by Taiwanese company E-Lead Electronic.

As you can see it is very similar in form factor to the Asus aside from the slight twist on the keyboard. The Noahpad has a feature list that includes:

  • 7-inch display
  • Dual touch pads and a split keyboard design
  • Running Ubuntu 7.10
  • Can Windows XP with drivers
  • 1GHz VIA C7 Eden processor
  • 512MB worth of RAM
  • 30GB hard drive
  •

It isn’t just the hard drive that sets it apart from the Eee though, as the display folds back on itself a la tablet PC style, albeit a not very functional one as the display isn’t touchscreen.
