Konica Minolta unleashes the 1600 series of laser printers

Mmmm, printers.  Many may ask, “How exciting can a printer be?  As long as it prints well, inks cheap, and it lasts awhile, what else is there?”  They haven’t seen the new line of printers from Konica Minolta.

The new Magicolor 1600 series of color laser printers from Konica Minolta promises some great features for both the high-quality print market as well as the home office.  With 4 new printers in the series there is something for everyone.  Don’t expect flashy with tons of bells and whistles, though.  These printers are serious about printing, but feel no need to be other office products as well.

The Magicolor 1600W, 1650EN, 1680MF, and 1690MF all print 20 ppm black-and-white and 5 ppm color and print at full speed regardless of resolutions settings.  They operate at between 29 and 50 decibels and are energy star compliant.  With small, compact designs they offer good printing power with space-saving abilities.

The Magicolor 1600W and 1650EN use “Konica Minolta Simitri HD” toner.  It alone saves up to a reported 15 percent of the energy usually required for laser printing and its emissions are about 40 percent below those of conventional toner.  The Magicolor 1680MF and 1690 MF are all-in-ones offering scanning, copying, and faxing as well as printing capabilities.
