Kodak Reputation Redeemed

by Heidi Crossman on Oct 19, 2008 at 09:12 AM

Pricing and Fade-Resistance Figured Out

WIRKodak recently introduced two inkjet printers to their All-in-One lineup: ESP7 and ESP9.  The announcement came nearly six months after they released the ESP5.

As a draw-in, Kodak claims these printers give us the lowest ink prices in the industry.  This is just like every printer they have ever put out, even going back to the first ones in 2004.  Even in 2007, when Kodak put out its first inkjet, they were singing the same song.

Is Kodak bringing printing costs down or not?  Keep reading to see what I found out.

The best of all electronics – really?

by Heidi Crossman on Oct 18, 2008 at 09:14 AM

cbhd100 entries.  20 finalists.  3 winners.  1 grand award.  And a confused girl.  You might be having a little chuckle over the confused girl part.  But I really am.

Of the 3,162 exhibitors at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and all their acres of eye-popping electronics, how does a China Blue High-Definition (CBHD) player win the Grand Award and the Gold Award for Consumer Electronics in a competition as highly touted as the HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology?  Seriously?  The most amazing, can’t live without, new electronic of highest innovation in all the world is a CBHD player?

Half of you reading this are saying, what in the world is a CBHD player?  And I hope the rest of you are shaking your heads with me.

See?  I’m not the only one confused now.

Hong Kong Electronics Fair Award Winners

by Heidi Crossman on Oct 17, 2008 at 06:24 PM

CBHDThe buzz at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair came with the judging for the 10th HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology.  Some of the entrees that won have been kept so secret, there is no information on the Internet about them yet, not even on the manufacturers’ sites.  I am sure that will change as soon as the fair ends and the real marketing starts.  In such cases, links to manufacturers’ websites have been provided for future reference.

Each winner received a trophy and a year’s worth of bragging rights.  Check out the winners after the break and come back tomorrow for my thoughts on these winners.

by Heidi Crossman on Oct 15, 2008 at 04:12 PM

circuit city logoCircuit City turned in second quarter results that looked a lot like a black diamond ski slope.  As reported in a previous Gadgetell article, drastic measures had to be taken with a sudden CEO change three weeks ago.

Hopefully, new CEO, James Marcum, is a good skier.  Maybe you are one of the ones holding your breath about the future of the electronics retailer.  Curious about what impending changes are eminent?

Men, beware! This one’s for the ladies!

by Heidi Crossman on Oct 10, 2008 at 05:20 PM

Tech site RedFlagDeals.com opens the door of a female focused website

ScarlettLounge

Walmart is often accurately accused of having everything you need all in one place.  If you are a Walmart fan for that reason, and you are of the female gender, you might enjoy browsing the aisles of the Scarlett Lounge.  The website is geared toward women—women who love to shop but need just a little more: women who need everything all in one place.

Shopping assistance and product suggestion is front and center on the site.  What is so pertinent about a shopping site for Gadgetell’s female readers?  It is what’s on the rest of the site.  Find out more after the break.
