Gadgetell Podcast 17: Giddy over Gadgetell v2 11/8/2006

by Greg Cherniet on Nov 9, 2006 at 07:03 PM

gadgetell podcastWe promised the redesign would come…now it has finally arrived, but that doesn’t stop business as usual. If you stop for too long you may miss out on the Wii preorders and just have to settle for a Microsoft Live update including 1080p support. Like our current v2 contests, Cingular customers are being rewarded with a low-end Treo, a 3G world-smartphone, and a rather robust music service. Verizon customers, on the other hand, may end up becoming more addicted to YouTube. We also had a chance to discuss Vista, Gmail, the MacBook and Pro, and the most anticipated electronics day of the year. Check it out…

Gadgetell Podcast 16: Google buys YouTube 10/10/2006

by Greg Cherniet on Oct 10, 2006 at 06:41 PM

gadgetell podcastWOW, $1.65 billion dollars of stock, that is a ton of money. Will Google’s purchase of YouTube really payoff? And how did these rumors make their way to the headlines? All these years since America Online 2.5, can AOL make it back onto your desktop even for free? What has taken so long with the Sprint - Motorola relationship to develop? Can T-Mobile actually launch a Q killer? This is just a slight overview of the antics that take place in what is hopefully the last episode before our redesign and possible the only Appless podcast thus far (if you don’t believe us listen till the end).

Gadgetell Podcast 15: Finally 8/22/2006

by Greg Cherniet on Sep 22, 2006 at 06:20 PM

gadgetell podcastIt’s been many weeks since we spoke to you last but the CE trends have not changed. Microsoft has announced the Zune and Apple hyped up new iPods and movies at their “Showtime” event. I wouldn’t call this podcast a news report as Doug and Adam dive into some great debates about how essential iTunes is to the iPod, if the Zune can actually survive, how Microsoft is copping Nintendo, and much more. Listen in to this portable audio edition of the Gadgetell podcast.

by Greg Cherniet on Jul 4, 2006 at 03:28 PM

gadgetell podcastJeteye logoThis week we called up David Hayden, CEO of Jeteye. We talked to him about the social bookmarking arena, who the real competitors are, how Jeteye can come out ahead, why Jetpacks will not make you fly, and what Yahoo! messenger has to do with Jeteye. We also got a little hint that their may be some teamwork between Flickr and Jeteye in the near future—our assumption. Will they be purchased by Yahoo, listen in!

by Greg Cherniet on Jun 14, 2006 at 03:31 AM

gadgetell podcastAfter many, many weeks months of stories about the super-slim Motorola Q smartphone and bated breath for the unit to be delivered, it has finally arrived. We kicked off this week’s podcasts talking a bit about the Q and some of its advanced features as well as an expected price cut. We then moved on to Vista Beta, DLO, Griffin, Apple, Sony, Nintendo, and well…I guess that covers it. We wanted to play with our Q!

gadgetell podcastOver the past week we have had a bunch of new stories that seemed to compete against one another, so we decided to fight it out.
