Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.

Tectoy’s main focus is releasing the Zeebo first in Brazil and later in Mexico and other parts of Latin America.
The Zeebo has some pretty basic technical statistics. A lot of power isn’t very necessary to run some of the older games the system will play. It has 1 GB of internal Flash memory, 168MB RAM, 3 USB ports and a SD card reader. It displays games in a 4:3 aspect ratio at 640x480 resolution.
The Zeebo will make games available wirelessly over a 3G network and already has the support of some well-known publishers such as EA, Id Software and Namco Bandai. Games including Tekken, FIFA and Quake will be available on the console after it launches.
All games are saved in the Zeebo’s internal memory, much like the Wii, to help deal with critical issues such as piracy. All the games will be in standard definition and are meant to be played on the oldest of televisions. The games will be purchased by using Z-Credits that will be acquired by using a credit card or a bank transfer.
You won’t be able to play a game while the system is downloading (again like the Wii) but, if the system is turned off before the download is complete, it will recover automatically.
In addition to the major developers, the Zeebo will take on local developers from specific countries to make games that will resonate with people in the community.
