This week’s Nintendo Download marks the debut of two expected releases. Excitebike: World Rally, an updated and improved entry in the Excitebike series is out on WiiWare and a slew of Electroplankton downloads have been released on DSiWare. Two other major releases include Frogger Returns (WiiWare) and Bomberman Blitz (DSiWare).

If you’re considering one of the five Electroplankton DSiWare games, then you’ll probably want to get a new Nintendo Points card and look up information on the original game. Half of the 10 different kinds of plankton from the original game have been released on DSiWare, and each costs $2/200 Nintendo Points. It also sounds like the downloads only include the Performance Mode from the original Electroplankton.

Description: Remember the Nintendo game Excitebike? This is essentially the same thing, only with better graphics and a control scheme that uses the Wii remote. It is a motorcycle racing game. It also offers Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support to race against friends online and a Track Editor to make your own tracks that you can race on or share.

Frogger Returns

Description: It’s classic Frogger, the game where you help a frog make it through traffic and a treacherous path to reach the other side, only now in 3D and updated with new content. There’s also a two player mode where you can see who can help Frogger to safety first.
