Halloween is the one night children across the united states dress as their favorite superhero, villain or monsters and stroll the streets at night in search of candy. But Halloween doesn’t have to end on October 31, 2009.

Now until November 6, 2009, Gaia is hosting a week-long Halloween event called Demonbusters where Gaians can continue their Halloween fighting demons and stocking up on virtual Halloween gear.

When you first log in you are asked to choose which side you will fight for by casting out the demons on the light side (The Benevolent Order of the Overseer) or reign terror on the innocent by joining the dark side (Sentinel’s Infernal Nation). Once you choose a side you can not switch back, so make up your mind before you push the button.

Once a side is chosen, you are given your first mission which will help level up your stats and earn an exclusive item that can only be found by playing Demonbusters. You can also recruit friends to join you by sending announcements or posting your success to your Facebook, MySpace or Twitter accounts. Or if you want an easy way out, purchase five followers for 10 Gaia Cash by selecting buy followers on the page. Or visit the forums to see who is recruiting and do some recruiting on your own for followers. Followers will help unlock the harder missions during this event and earn more rare items.

To join the fight simply register for a free account at Gaia Online and choose a side. The Demonbusters site includes the story behind this upcoming battle including a webcomic.
