Gaia Online hosts virtual summer camp, Camp Chaos
Ah, summer camp. What person doesn’t remember the time they had in summer camp as a kid. How we didn’t really want it to end no matter how horrible it was it was better than going back to school.
But now you can relive those summer adventures on Gaia Online according to a message Christina Simmons, assistant account executive, public relations over at Mullens PR sent me.
I ventured over to Gaia Online to dress my avatar for camp and checked it out. When you log into Gaia Online you’ll notice a sign near your avatar for camp, you can join one of four camps to represent - Science Camp, Juvie Camp, Fitness Camp or Rich Camp. This isn’t your typical kayaking, kumbaya singing or marshmallow toasting summer camp. Oh, no. There’s plenty of mischievous rivalry going on at camp according to Craig Sherman, CEO, Gaia Online.
“Gaia Online’s users look forward to the annual summer event all year long, and this year we’ve really gone all out with over-the-top pranks, wacky features, and creative game-play,” Sherman said. “This is a one-of-kind event that will give our users a chance to live out their ultimate camp experience, where mischievous behavior is not frowned upon but encouraged.”
But since my avatar was just shipped off to Juvie Camp to fend for herself, I wanted to learn more about the camp through Simmons who informed me that each camp will engage in a ruthless war of pranks against the other camps. Sounds like fun. She also explained that as they gain experience from pulling pranks. They can start playing pranks on camp staff including the janitor, safety monitor and counselors. Each camper will have access to tricks they can pull on unsuspecting rival camp members to earn virtual rewards.
There’s plenty to do at Camp Chaos, to start select the camp you want to pull a prank on and the game will automatically find you a victim to pick on. Once the victim er, other player has been located you can look at their success rate and ranking then either choose to break out (flee the battle) for 15 energy points, bully or prank them for 5 energy points for a 74 percent chance of doing 2 to 4 point damage to their ego or Loiture (cure your character) for 10 energy points after they retaliate. But watch out, while you bully they may bully back dealing heavy damage depending on their experience points.
If you need a break from all the bullying or pranks, check out the secret beach where everyone can hang out and just talk located on the main camp screen. Here you can roam around and explore or go swimming.
