by Jeremy Hill on Oct 27, 2009 at 08:37 AM

Splosion Man avatarsSplosion Man was one of the shining jewels in the Xbox 360’s summer of arcade festivities earlier this year (2009). It involved the simple concept of exploding your character through platform-heavy levels to end the stage. Splosion Man is also one of the first games to give awards that can be used by your Xbox 360 avatar.

Twisted Pixel sent a press release about a patch for Splosion Man that adds avatar awards in the form of clothing and fixes some multiplayer issues.

by Jeremy Hill on Oct 26, 2009 at 08:32 PM

Fat Princess New Pork
Fat Princess got off to a shaky start when it was released.

Even though it received high marks during its beta phase, the final build was riddled with game crippling bugs including severe online lag and balance issues. These problems were fixed in a timely manner and the world of Fat Princess was back to its colorful, calorie-filled self.

Shortly after the games release Titan Studios began teasing a new map appropriately called “New Pork” which features a more urban environment. We now know this level will be included in a free patch that will be released on October 29, 2009.

by Jeremy Hill on Oct 26, 2009 at 06:21 PM

Blue Nintendo DSiNintendo usually waits a couple years before changing the hardware on its handheld devices but it just may break tradition this time around. According to a report from Nikkei news service (via a quick NeoGaf translation of a blog post), Nintendo will release a new DSi in Japan this year (2009) with a screen that is approximately 4 inches. The screen on the current DSi is 3.25 inches.

Overall it’s not a major difference in appearance but Nintendo is going after a different consumer demographic. This new strategy is directed towards older would be gamers who would probably find the larger screen easier to interact with.

uncharted 2 multiplayer

Without seeing the NPD sales figures for October 2009 one would probably not be too far off in assuming that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be one of the top selling games of the month.

Uncharted 2 already packs in about 12 hours of single-player gameplay but its multiplayer mode adds an uncountable amount of playtime. Even with all that gaming goodness, owners of the game will be pleased to know that Uncharted 2 will get more content before the end of 2009.
