Nintendo offers free repairs for Wiis bricked by firmware 4.2
Today many Wii owners saw a little flashing light on their consoles alerting them that a system update was available to download. The Wii System Menu 4.2 update was created in order to wipe unauthorized files from consoles. There is a chance that the update would essentially brick the Wii because some files on modded consoles attach themselves to the files that makes the Wii operate. Mandatory Xbox 360 system update prepares consoles for future features
Microsoft has released a mandatory Xbox 360 system update, so if your Xbox 360 is connected to the internet, you’ll have to do some downloading and updating. The update adds no new features, but prepares for Facebook, Last.FM and Twitter support.
