- So Apple's product explodes, and it may or may not be their fault? What, did the floor introduce combustible material into it?
- David, Link works fine for me. If you search the App store for "Lose It" it's the first thing that comes up.
- RE: iMovie HD 6 no longer available [Appletell]Man, that blows.
- RE: The cure for Zunepocalypse [Appletell]Ah, Mac vs. PC. It feels like 1990 again. Just so we don't have any further miscommunications, I'll be much clearer from now on: Zune sucks.
- RE: Internet Explorer still unsafe [Appletell]Call me nuts, but when the most-used web browser made by the world's biggest software company can leave you vulnerable simply by viewing a web page, I consider that news. But if I must say something nice about Internet Explorer, I will admit that using it will not cause your dog to explode. Provided you have upgraded to SP2.
- Racer-X is actually Speed's brother, Rex!
- I don't think a computer icon should count as a graven image. Although the U2 edition iPod totally would.
- RE: Three ways iPod Touch gets it wrong [Appletell]SteveH: Bizarre! Just to check, do you have a 2nd Gen Touch? Because as I mentioned in my previous article, when I connect mine to either a Firewire cable (which I used in my car charger) or my radio/speaker dock, I get a message that "charging is not supported with this accessory."
- RE: Three ways iPod Touch gets it wrong [Appletell]Flash? Adobe Flash? You crazy?
- RE: Netflix Watch Instantly: First Impressions [Appletell]That is true: digital rights management is provided by PlayReady, which is part of Silverlight 2. My bad.
- RE: Apple killing off Firewire on iPods [Appletell]Little bit of an update here: on the accessory I talk about, it turns out that I can play music through it. How odd, esp. when compared with Mia's problem.
- RE: Apple killing off Firewire on iPods [Appletell]Probably the same issue: the accessories are using the Firewire pin to access the data. I wonder if this was a licensing choice: was it cheaper to license Firewire access through Apple (who may have given them a discount, since they were creating it for an Apple iPod, after all), rather than Intel's USB technology.
- RE: Appletell review - Sid Meier's Pirates [Appletell]Give me a happy ending, every time.
- RE: Brick teaser now, more info to come [Appletell]Well, the book appears to be a copy of "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson. Not sure what that has to do with anything.
- RE: iPhone heading to EVDO/Verizon for 2009? [Appletell]I'm getting in line NOW! Although, there is one thing in their favor: the iPhone doesn't use Java, and neither do Verizon's phones--they use Brew.
- When Midnight Mansion starts to get to you, you can download this update Ah yes, thank you for that.
- RE: There's a secret barcode on your iPhone [Appletell]That's what the Smoking Man wants you to believe. Keep watching the skies!
- RE: iTunes 8 and Genius first impressions [Appletell]Ah, sorry about that. I don't use Browser Mode, so I was confused. However, I believe this is the droid you're looking for.
- RE: iTunes 8 and Genius first impressions [Appletell]Well, I'm looking at my iTunes Library right now, and by hitting cmd-J it brings up the familiar list of check boxes, showing all the columns that can be listed. Simply deselect "genre" and it disappears.
- RE: iTunes 8 and Genius first impressions [Appletell]No, it very much does work with ripped music (which 95% of my music is). What I believe the problem is that the songs must also exist in the ITMS database so that it can be compared with other songs. And the Beatles and more obscure tracks aren't. Genius totally works with ripped music.
