Free Apps Roundup for November 28, 2008 - Black Friday edition

by Jake Gaecke on Nov 28, 2008 at 06:45 AM

Free Apps on the App Store for November 28, 2008Black Friday has the tendency of taking all of your money in the course of a few hours. But don’t fret, this week was great for free apps. Here’s this weeks list of awesome free apps on the App Store.

  • Starfall - Touch the black or white stars as they fall. That pretty much sums up the rules of this game, but simple doesn’t always mean easy. The stars fall progressively faster. It looks like it could be fun.
  • Erno’s Cube - Finally, a free Rubix cube! I honestly didn’t think it was going to take this long. Only thing is, you have about another week to download this app for free. The cube is controlled in 3D and is very customizable. This game is just like having instant frustration in the palm of your hand…but it’s still fun.
  • Lose It! - This is one of the most complete calorie tracking apps I’ve seen on the App Store. A really great feature of it is that not only can you track calories consumed, but it really encourages you to exercise by also recording it and the calories burned during. You can also enter in your own custom foods and exercises. This one is free for six months.
  • ProjectPolaroid - Turn your iPhone into a fake instant photo printer, the kind that takes a regular photo and makes it awesome.
  • Touch4: FS5 (Free) - Try to connect four pieces in this iPhone game. It has three board sizes and three AI levels, but you can also play against other real people with iPhones over an internet connection of any kind. Plus, it has all of the features you’ve come to expect out of a decent game, like auto-saving, undo and clever accelerometer support (turn it upside down to get the pieces to fall out). This one’s definitely worth your download.
  • 5,800+ Drink and Cocktail Recipes Free - If you’ve ever wanted to mix drinks, this is the mixing app to have. With over 5,800 recipes, you’ll be mixing until your arms fall off. You can sort by categories and even search. I’m surprised they don’t even want a dollar for this.
  • Fliq Notes - Not only can you take notes and sort them, but you can share them over WiFi.
