12,000 Coby DVD players recalled due to fire hazard

Coby and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have just recalled 12,000 portable DVD players. The affected models include the TF-DVD170 and the TF-DVD176, they are at risk of overheating and causing a fire. Both models are portable DVD players and ranged in price from $140 to $170.

Currently there has been three reports of overheating, only one of which resulted in a fire that caused minor damage. Thankfully there has not been any personal injuries. Owners can contact Coby for full refunds.
