Nobel Prize for disc technology

This years Nobel Peace Prize for Physics has gone to French scientist Albert Fert and Peter Grunberg of Germany, who have been honored for “the discovery of giant magnetoresistance”, which for you and I is the technology that reads a disc.

This technology has made it possible to radically miniaturise hard disks in recent years.

I bet they got a few votes from the boys over at Apple as much as anywhere else then!
