Palm CEO Ed Colligan posted a grim message on the company blog; the Palm Foleo is officially dead. Well, it has to be grim for somebody. Though the decision was tough, Colligan says its the right one.

He goes on to say that Palm is working on a new platform, that will be used in the Foleo 2. They will, however, first bring the platform to the market with smartphones (i.e. Treo).

What with the iPhone being the  “smartphone” on the market, I’d say it’s a good think Palm is focusing on one thing at a time. They’ve got a lot to do if they want to catch up with other phone manufacturers because, truth be told, the Treo is slipping.

Gutsy move.
