Chinavasion recently introduced a new type of PMP with a twist: this PMP also supports emulators for games. The only problem is that these games are old; I’m talking Nintendo NES old. Along with NES games, it also plays Famicom, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Sega’s Mega Drive/Genesis games. The CVASQ-C811 features a gaming pad, a D pad, seven buttons and two speakers.
This device can only play AVIs, but it comes with a software that can covert RM, RMVB, WMV, ASF, MPEG, MPEG-4, MPE, DAT and MOV files. Whatever video type you have, there’s a big chance you’ll be able to convert it and put it on the CVASQ-C811. For music, it can play MP3s, WMAs and WAV formats. It also supports other formats, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and TXT.
Additionally, it sports a 3 inch QVGA LTPS TFT LCD with a resolution of 320×240 pixel. One odd feature about this is that it only has 1GB internal memory, but it can be expanded to 4GB via SD expansion. Final specs include audio recording in WAV, USB 2.0 connectivity, and is compatible with Windows 98, SE, ME, 2000 and XP, Mac OS X, and Linux 2.4.2.
There is no word on costs or availability, however, expect this PMP to be out soon.
