I-O DATA intros tiny USB GPS receiver

by Natesh Sood on Sep 21, 2007 at 06:22 PM

Navi Clip

GPS’ seem to be all the rage these days, it has been integrated in cars, phones, stand alone devices, PDAs, watches and more.  Whether you desire to run GPS based apps on your machine or want to convert your laptop to a roving GPS instrument (as many boaters do), check this out.

I-O DATA’s Navi Vlip sports a SiFR StarIII/LP chipset for your GPS needs. It’s really small too, in fact it measures out at 18g and 53×24×11mm. The company is based in Japan and current plans are to release it there, but with this kind of portability, I bet it comes stateside soon.  It is set to cost 150 Euros, or $209.
