Firefox parties, turns 400 million downloads old!

by Natesh Sood on Sep 10, 2007 at 12:17 PM

Firefox

Firefox first began as an alternative to the very popular Internet Explorer browser when it was created three years ago. A year after it had been released, 100 million people began to turn to Firefox, seeking a new and better browser. A year later it had been downloaded 200 million times and, finally, Friday,it reached the 400 million download mark.  Well done!

Firefox is a great browser with its easy to understand design, tabbed browsing, and amazing plug-in support. As an avid user of Firefox, I first was reluctant to try it out, but when I did, I couldn’t go back. Now, the first thing I install on new computers is Firefox, there is no better browser.

Our site statistics tell us what browser is most popular among our readers, but what browser do you rely on?  Why?  Let us know in the comments.
