Samsung gives NV camera line a touch up

by Indraneel Purohit on Jul 30, 2007 at 05:21 PM

samsung new touch screen NV cameras

Looks like everything has a touch screen these days, and Samsung’s new NV cameras are no exception. The brand new NV8, NV15, and NV20 (8, 10, and 12 megapixels, respectively) all integrate their manufacturer’s Smart Touch technology. What this is, is a series of vertical and horizontal touch sensitive sliders placed around the cameras’ 2.5 inch LCD displays that allow for easy navigation through various menus.

Additionally, every model has Advanced Shake Reduction, Auto Contrast Balance, and Image Noise Reduction, for great pictures. They also can shoot at a maximum ISO of 3200, allowing a varying range of light to enter the Schneider image sensor.

A new feature that many Point and Shoot cameras are touting these days is Face Recognition, which detects faces and prevents over exposure, is also available in these next generation NV models.

Other details include VGA video recording and 3x optical zoom.

The NV8 has no launch date or price set for the USA yet, but the NV15 and NV20 will be available this fall for $299 and $399, respectively.
