HP HDX “Dragon” notebook - out now

by Indraneel Purohit on Jul 26, 2007 at 04:30 PM

hp hdx out nowHot off the assembly line, the HP Pavilion HDX “Dragon” notebook is now available. I reported on this mammoth of a laptop a good two months ago. In all its 20.1 inch display-glory, the HDX will run you a lot of money; the base price is $2,750.

Hardcore users (i.e. people who are buying this machine in the first place) will probably want to shoot way past that base price, adding all the desirable fixin’s. You can take advantage of that brilliant HDMI-out port by adding an HD-DVD drive to the package. That combo is made even better by a nifty, dockable media remote. Also out of the box is an epicly-proportioned 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT.

You may also choose to add: a Core 2 Extreme processor, 4 gigs of RAM, and a slew of hard drive options.

As far as colossal laptops go, there’s no entering the Dragon’s domain
