YouTube for mobile phones.

by Robert Nelson on Jun 17, 2007 at 12:25 AM

YouTube LogoYouTube has given us a whole new way to waste some time, this time while we are on the go, thanks to a new mobile version of YouTube. Just grab your phone and go to m.youtube.com to get started. The mobile version will be available on phones that can play streaming videos (RTSP/3GP with H263/AMR) and YouTube also suggests an Unlimited Data Plan. When you first launch the site, you are given the following warning.

“Information: YouTube is a data intensive application. We highly recommend that you upgrade to an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges.“

So we have been warned. YouTube will not be responsible for your overage fees, which we all know can be very high. I checked out the menu and the home page and it includes all the menu items that you would want or need such as Find, Featured, Recently Added, Most Viewed, Top Rated, Top Favorites and a few others. So then I went off to waste some time and choose a video and realized that my phone is not supported. Would have been fun to play with but I really do not need another time waster on my phone. Hope you have better luck.
