Treo most hurt by iPhone & Curve?
According to Piper Jaffray Wireless Hardware Analyst, T. Michael Walkley, the Palm Treo will be most hurt by upstarts such as the iPhone and the Blackberry Curve. He reports “frustration” in AT&T stores in trying to sell the Treo 750 series phones.
Walkley is quoted saying:
“With the BlackBerry Curve ramping and iPhone launching June 29th at AT&T, we view Treo as the most impacted by these launches and anticipate even further declines in sell through trends.”
He paints the picture of folks being driven into AT&T stores to seek the iPhone only to find it won’t mix with their needs and select a competing Blackberry model (such as the sophisticated Curve or 8800 series).
Personally, I find it hard to believe an iPhone potential buyer will be bait and switched over to a stodgy Blackberry. Rather, I’d see them baulk at the price then go with a music wannabe, such as the Sony Ericsson Walkman phone or even the Samsung Blackjack—now pitched at $74!

I had 3 palm treo’s in one year. The device wouldn’t work half the time and froze. I considered the iphone but it is limited in its ability to perform business tasks. So I purchased a blackberry cruve. this is one hell of a phone. the best phone I ever owned. The curve updates the calendar and contacts wirelessly without syncing. It is so easy to use. I will be buying the second curve to arrive in Septemeber 07.
