One Million Zunes Sold
Better late then never, they always say. Not too long after Apple sold their billionth iPod, Microsoft’s sales reports show that they are… getting there.
Aside from its thick ‘n chunky exterior, the Zune still totes a large screen and boasts a better battery life. Claiming that it controls 10 percent of the hard disk player market share, Microsoft is unceremoniously moving up the ranks.
Although Apple’s clever marketing and fetish for white (and glossy) has made the iPod a household name, Microsoft is basing themselves in the niche market. Take the traveling musician who edits and finalizes his band’s tunes, and can then share them with fellow band members, albeit with some restrictions. Though these restrictions are far and few between, they do certainly add up.
Better late than never… but too little too late?
