Apple TV Gets YouTube and 160GB Disk

Apple TV YouTube

Remember that little Apple TV hack? Fughedaboutit.

Apple has announced that they are upgrading their little living room box. In a few weeks, Apple will enable the Apple TV to watch the addicting online videos.

Thousands of videos will be available when the service starts in mid-June. Even more will be added as time moves on.

Satisfied? There’s more.

Available tomorrow, the Apple TV will have a second model, with 160GB. If you were wondering why Apple put a meek little 40GB hard drive in the Apple TV’s first iteration, now you’re probably just more confused.

For everyone else, for a still steep $399, you can get a fairly beefy media streaming/syncing box.

I personally think this move is because of the launch of the Xbox 360 Elite. Although most people don’t bother to use them, the 360 has some awesome media centric features.

It is, however, safe to say that Apple is going to have a pretty happy summer.
