Along with Microsoft’s announcement of their new Zune portable music player, the company also announced plans to add a phone to the lineup. I shall call him… zPhone. This week, there was talk of Apple’s long rumored iPhone being introduced at Macworld in January 2007, so Microsoft spilling the beans first gives them a PR headstart.
Microsoft already has the popular Windows Mobile 5.0 in their phone portfolio, so they could either use that, or create an entirely new OS for the new Zune. Lets just say they have a little practice in the mobile OS department.
